Sunshine Coast you have done it again. What a great turn out at the 2009 Great Strides Walkathon. Over 160 participants enjoyed the stroll along the boardwalk and the many after event activities. Our thanks to LJ Hooker on the Coast, to all participants and fundraisers for your support - we are extremely grateful!
2009 Event Details!
LJ Hooker on the Sunshine Coast hosts Queensland's longest running Great Strides Walkathon with this being the fourth year that the Coast has taken great strides to support those living with CF and their families and to raise much needed funds for Cystic Fibrosis Queensland. This motivated group of Sunshine Coast LJ Hooker offices promise that the 2009 event will be the best yet!
Where: Pirate Ship Park, Parkyn Parade, Mooloolaba (Opposite the Yacht Club) on Pilot Station Road.
When: Sunday, 13 September 2009
Starts: We encourage all walkers to arrive at Pirate Ship Park at 8 am, one hour before our starting time of 9am.
Route: The walk starts at Pirate Ship Park along the boardwalk to the Jetty continues to the Mooloolaba Surf Club before returning to Pirate Ship Park.
Distance: 3km - 6km
Car parking - There are several parking areas on Pilot Station Road, however the easiest parking station is at the Wharf (Underwater World). Then it is just a short 200 metre stroll to Pirate Ship Park.
Remember! Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and dress appropriately for the weather - bring a hat and sunscreen!
After the walk stay and enjoy a sausage sizzle, hot and cold drinks, jumping castle, face painting and AFL Sunshine Coast.
